How to get good?

So I'm pretty bad at dota. When I have furion and I'm ganking I tend to sprout allies instead of enemies.

Now that I'm getting back into the game, any ideas on how to get good? I'm below thr t1 avg btw

Go to www.playdota.com and read up on some of the basic guides there. They should give you at least a general idea of what you should and should not be doing.

i'd suggest that you scrounge up a few friends to play with you
the most motivational way to improve is to play with pals so you get the fun out of it.
Start out playing casual then slowly start figuring out ways to improve your play and most of all have fun.
it is a game afterall!

yeah i played like 10 hours a day for a month or two with aussies inhousing/wars and at the end of it i really noticed i had improved so much. individual skillwise it was maybe only a slight improvement, but lookin at game theory and game strategizing and really looking at how games are won just improved hugely. I mean the main problem with "good" individually skilled dota players is they dont know how to win games. they dont know how to use their pressure/dominance/how to push properly/how to get mapcontrol... Owning is only part of it.

Also, having played with mcity learnt how imba gem around mid game. Dewarding everything alone when you have control to keep control etc etc.

To get better at dota you have to realize what it takes to be a good dota player.
Trash talking is key. If you can't discriminate against at least 7 nationalities you have failed.

Also get dagon 5 every game. everyone knows only its the score that matters. even if your team loses you can always point to ur K/D ratio and type "lolumad" in all chat.
