Last Zeratul mission on brutal?

Da fuck I can't beat it. Can only kill 1600 or so units, anyone beat it on brutal? I know Masada has.

protip: abandon the lower plateau.

Then get several colossi, dark templar, and stalkers.
Use everything else on cannons.

Put the DTs at the top of the ramps, the colossi on the raised area between the ramps, and let the stalkers back the DTs up.

When you get the phoenixes, keep them near the colossi to graviton beam the smaller hybrids and kill air units.
same for the void rays and carriers when they arrive. Use the void rays to kill ultralisks and large hybrids.

After about 1000 kills, switch the DTs out for immortals.

The important thing it to let you colossi kill masses of weaker units, while the immortals and stalkers and voids, and whatnot kill the bigger threats.

I fucking knew you were going to chime in on this thread. Did you beat is on Brutal? BRUTAL doing that strat? Hard is a cakewalk in comparison.

There seems to be a huge difficulty difference between hard and brutal, on this mission in particular. I remember on hard DTs are imba because the computer doesn't bring any detectors, but they do on brutal. Also if you've noticed the computer micros quite a bit on brutal. Like for example if you throw a psi storm the enemy units move away from it instantly. Its pretty hard.

ISO halp from Masada.

-First, get an extra forge and keep upgrading your shields, weapons and armor. Build a robotics bay, then mass colossi. Forget about the rest, its just useless.
-If you can, be productive on your mineral gathering. 3 probes per mineral field will do the trick.
-Get phoenixes to levitate hybrid at all times. Always keep like 9 phoenixes. Use your extra minerals to wall off your base at the beginning, and when you have the time.
-Once carriers are available, stop making colossi and focus on making carriers (don't forget to turn on interceptor automatic production!)
-By that time, your base around the archives will be soon pretty much gone. Abandon that part when it looks like a lost cause, but make sure you wall off your main base at the ramp before doing that. Worms will have started spawning at your base by that time, so making photon canons as soon as possible there will be a big plus (btw, broodlings that come out of worm holes don't improve your kill count, destroy worms as soon as you see them appearing!)
-Soon enough, your colossi will be dead and your base will start getting raped, but you should have enough carriers to kill off the incoming hybrid/air waves.
-When the mothership arrives, it's gg.

Gonna try all this when I fire up SCII again, thanks!

BTW I didn't know you can autocast interceptors, fucking imba holy shit.

Your input is definitely helping a lot. Just got to 2100 units. Mothership wasn't GG LOL

Edit - 2370...

Edit - LOL. Basically I did exactly what Masada said. Once Carriers were available I was pumping like 4 at time from my Starports. Had to use Graviton Beam a shit load too for those fucking hybrids. One of the 2, the greenish, melee one, cannot attack air so it will ignore your air units and just rape your base. They are the biggest problem because the other hybrid will just sit there and pick off interceptors. Almost got the "kill an extra 750 units on normal" achievement on brutal.

Death so slow.

I walled off my entrances with dark templar, then used my Phoenixes to kill any incoming overseers.
Once void rays were available I got about 10, then massed carriers until my base started getting owned at about 140 supply.

After that, I cleared all the remaining ground units out of my base, flew into the unreachable areas of the map and used the mothership to black hole the mass air units in half so my carriers/voids/phoenixes would kill shit.

killed overseers as a matter of policy to prevent my carriers from getting destroyed, but stopped fucking with them when my mothership lost shields and 25% of hp.
I didn't know about auto-building interceptors either....

I already had the +750 thing from normal mode, but being 6 units off from that in brutal is depressing.

Also, low settings gg.
