StarCraft 2: help us mourn the death of content freedom

Wow this is a huge bummer. I can kinda understand the censorship of bad content and stuff. But limiting the content upload to under 25mb is kinda a bummer. It basically eliminates the ability for users to make really ambitious projects. Why is Blizzard trying to take the fun out of Starcraft.

It's certainly daunting... but if you simply consider the number of quality maps a single person is able to make, you will never be able to reach the limit. For ambitious projects, I don't think a single map could really take more than 25MB. If there are multiple maps however, other people working on the project could also upload the map. This change will certainly discriminate/discourage substandard maps, and the only problem I see with that is that there will be less content to get inspired from. Like, if you have already published 2 quality maps and would like to publish some extra maps using a bunch of ideas you came up with, but without spending so much time on them, you might think about it twice. Even then ... there is no way in hell you could fill up your quota with a bunch of bad maps.

Now that blizzard is hosting everything, they are getting really stingy. Probably in anticipation of all the members they need to cater to. (so they hope)

Well hopefully it isn't too restricting for people who make maps. I can't wait to play some custom maps.

i had alot of little words like "shit" , "warcraft" , "suicide" , "rape" .. i took quite a while to figure out these words were actually causing my map to be unpublishable till i removed them .. It truely is the death of content freedom when saying suicide = not allowed ...

when at the same time suicide is the name of an effect in the Data editor for banelings, such contradicting stuff.

I hope blizzard wakes up and stops being so fussy with online maps, and use the warning " game experience may change during online play" instead, cause this sucks.
